Frequently Asked Questions
(Please read before contacting me)
Q1: I am a University of Pittsburgh student. Can I join your research group?
Yes! If you are a graduate or undergraduate student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh and are interested in data management or data science, please contact me to discuss further. We are always looking for smart and motivated students to join the ADMT Lab.
Q2: I am not yet a student at the University of Pittsburgh. Can I join your research group?
To join the lab you would first need to apply and be admitted to the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh. I have no control over Graduate Admissions — they are handled by a committee. Once admissions decisions are made in Spring, I would be happy to discuss the possibility of joining the ADMT Lab.
Q3: Can I visit your research group?
If you are a graduate student at a university abroad and will be funded to visit and work under my supervision for a brief period, please have your advisor contact me first to discuss the possibility. I will not accept such requests otherwise.
Q4: Do you give out summer internships?
Depending on research funding, our group typically involves undergraduate students from the Computer Science Department as research assistants throughout the year. However, you must already be a University of Pittsburgh student. We cannot offer internships to students from other universities.
Q5: Do you have any staff, postdoc, or visiting scholar positions?
Not at this point. Check the news page for any future announcements.
Q6: Can we connect on LinkedIn?
If you are a student in one of my courses, I would love to connect with you on LinkedIn — please send me a connection request after the term is over. I always enjoy keeping in touch with past students and seeing the great things they accomplish.
