My first solo PhD advisee, Dr. Huiming Qu (VP of Data Science at Home Depot), was the keynote speaker for the Spring 2026 graduation ceremony of the School of Computing and Information. She gave a very inspiring talk about her journey since coming to the US over 20 years ago. It made for a very proud advisor moment!
